Dublin First Birthday [Cake Smash] Photography

We’ve been photographing the Cather’s for a few years now and it’s been a joy watching them grow from a family of three to a family of four. Even though they live out of town and we don’t see them as often as we’d like, we genuinely enjoy meeting up with them to document another milestone in their lives.

We started their session at the Karrer Barn, then headed back to our in-home studio space for the cake smash. The cute ombre smash cake was from Our CupCakery and this was our last session before moving to our new studio space in Historic Dublin. As the saying goes, we saved the best for last… we hope this kind, fun family visits us for years to come!

One weekend, TWO Stellas! We had the pleasure of working with two adorable little girls this weekend…. both named Stella and both turning one! Check out some favorites from their sessions below.

First birthday ‘Sweet & Simple’ Cake Smash | LBP home studio Dublin, Ohio

Little Stella has literally grown up before our eyes! We did her newborn session last year on a cold, wintery Valentine’s Day and enjoyed seeing her every few months at various milestone sessions. She continues to get more and more adorable and although she didn’t love her cake [she wanted daddy pretty much the entire session!], we still captured some great moments. Stella’s momma chose the Sweet & Simple Cake Smash, a shorter session that allows just enough time for a few ‘I’m ONE!’ shots, a quick outfit change and then time for baby to dive into that cute, tiny cake!

First birthday Ultimate First Birthday Cake Smash | Upper Arlington, Ohio

This family found us through mutual friends and chose the Ultimate Cake Smash session. The session includes extra time for family shots, multiple outfits for the birthday girl and personal touch upgrades including a custom cake and decor. They wanted to do it in their beautiful home, so we brought our portable studio to them. Stella loved her cake and dug right in…

Li Family | First birthday cake smash session | LBP home studio Dublin, Ohio

This super cute family has been coming to us for a few years now. Big brother Elijah was one of our first cake smash sessions a while back and we were honored to capture Mia’s first year in our milestone package. Her first birthday session included a short family portion (brrr!) and then cake smash in our studio space. She had a few sad moments, but mostly was a happy little girl in pink who had fun playing with her cake. Big bro even joined in at the end!

Baby C | First Birthday and Cake Smash | LBP Studio | Dublin, OH

This little one’s session was simple & sweet… A birthday mini session, a tiny cake and a super cute one year old! Baby C was our very first non-cake loving baby, but momma helped encourage her and we still got some fun cake shots. Happy birthday C!

Sebastian | First Birthday and Cake Smash | Indian Run Falls & LBP Studio | Dublin, OH

We did Sebastian’s session a little ways back, but his momma wanted to keep the photos a surprise until after his birthday party… so we honored her request and are finally getting to post them! Sebastian’s family did the upgraded First Birthday session, which includes an on location family session and then a cake smash [in studio or on location]. They chose Indian Run Falls as their outdoor location, one of our favorite spots. Then it was time for the cake and Sebastian was SO SO happy! With no hesitation at all, he dug right in and we had a great time watching him squeal with joy! 🙂

Jillian | First Birthday and Cake Smash | Coffman Park | Dublin, OH

Jillian’s session was short & VERY sweet, complete with a cake! She was easy going, so happy and [as you can see] super adorable! Her ‘Hungry Little Caterpillar’ attire suited the park setting perfectly. Mom had to encourage her a bit to dive into the cake and big sister Julia enjoyed joining in at the end.
