Dublin and Columbus Wedding & Birth Photography [Weddings & Babies!]

We have been busy around here!  So blessed to have been a part of so many amazing milestones in the last week…

Finished up and mailed out a wedding gallery for a couple close to our hearts.  Look at all this smooching going on! –>

She found her dream dress at Ivy Bridal Studio in Dublin.  This place was amazing!  image(10)

For starters, Ivy is locally owned and operated, which I love supporting.  Jackie, the owner, was Carrie’s bridal consultant and was fantastic to work with.  She was laid back, non-pressured and completely honest.  And she knew what she was doing ~ it was her business!

Carrie was the ONLY bride in the store, the way to go in my opinion, now that I’ve been to ten+ bridal stores over the years.  You get one on one attention and it really makes it a more intimate experience for both the bride and her entourage.  Ivy is simplistic, yet elegant and absolutely GORGEOUS, which helps make the bride feel gorgeous [which every bride deserves!]  I wish I could get married all over again and go through this experience myself 🙂

These were shot with our iPhones and don’t do the place justice.  Hope to go back again when Carrie does her fitting and take my big-girl camera!

And BABIES!!!!!

Kelsey got to shoot her very first birth photography session last week.  As she said, there was not a dry eye in the room –>

And lastly…. Kelsey had her baby! I officially have another nephew and we now have THREE boys between the two of us.  If you have boys or know boys, you know why we only manage to blog once or twice per week… they keep you busy!

I was honored and blessed to be allowed to be in the delivery room, as well as doing MY first birth photography as well!  This first is iPhone pics we shared on Instagram….

Project 52 ~ weeks 16 to 25

Seriously, where does the time go?

Although we take pictures weekly, if not daily, we often don’t make the time to blog and post them like we should!  And its always hard to narrow down the shots to just one selection, so many of these themes have more than one image.

Dust off the archives, below include themes from week 16 -25!

Week 16

Theme:  mine

16 - mine-2

We had to show him how to collect the eggs, but once he figured it out, he did not want to let go!

Week 17

Theme:  pastel

17 - pastel-2

Pastels on a baby @ the beach at sunset! Precious!

Week 18

Theme:  moody

18d - moody-2

Boston’s 6 month shoot – his first photo made him seem moody… but we promise, the rest were all smiles!

18b - moody-2

Our little man is often quite expressive… observing, before smiling and laughing.  This night, however, he was actually getting sick (we didn’t know at the time) so he was cranky, fussy and no smiles at all!

Week 19

Theme:  faces

Ethan’s expressions are priceless.  Happy, sad, angry, mad, grumpy, cheerful, and everything in between.

18c - moody-2

Think he is growling here.

19 - faces-2

And here he is, calm and quiet.

A rare occurrence, but he is listening for his soon-to-be-brother inside momma’s tummy!

Week 20

Theme: light

Sunlight sessions, backlighting, sun-flare… a recent obsession [of Teresa’s] so it was hard to narrow down the shots on this theme.  Here are some favorites…

20d - light-2

Harbor Town, Hilton Head @ sunset

20e - light

Yoga outdoors allows you to experience nature; earth, wind & sunshine

20 - light-2

Happily engaged couple, celebrating at sunset

Week 21

Theme: [our] backyard

Hanging out in good ‘ol Ohio…

21d - my backyard-2

Hello Gabe!  At our parents’ farm.

21c - my backyard-2

Enjoying a peaceful afternoon in the tree swing

21b - my backyard-2

Tractors and diggers = a little boy’s dream come true

Week 22

Theme: [our] life

We love our families.  Our friends.  Our Heavenly father.  But we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE being mommas.  Our boys are our life!

22 - my life-2

Kelsey & Ethan on vacation

22b - my life-2

Teresa & JP @ the Columbus Clippers game

Week 23

Theme: blur

23 - blur-2

Blessed and honored to be able to capture this proposal on camera…

don’t worry, they didn’t all have this sea-grass blur, but this seemed artsy and fit the theme!

Week 24

Theme: motion

24 - motion-2

This child NEVER. SITS. STILL.  Like ever.

Here he is dancing away on the beach.  He is likely screaming, laughing and singing at the same time.

More motion, energy and life in this little guy than anyone else we know!

Week 25

Theme: dreamy

25 - dreamy-2

This beach, sun-set, surprise proposal really was a dream.  Again, so blessed to have been a part of it!

Thanks for viewing!  Hope to see you soon!

Happy 2014!

2013 was a FABULOUS year!  Some of our memories include…

LBP 2013 recap

~ Expanding our wedding packages and clients. We had a BLAST working with brides and grooms as they commit their lives to one another. #happilyeverafter!  Our most searched post this year was Mr & Mrs Jones tying the knot ~ see the stats for yourself                     —->

Holiday Minis Shanahan Blog -7

~ Our first fall and winter/holiday mini session packages.                                                                —->

~ Lots of fun engagement, family and senior photo shoots .

Boston-5

~ Our new venture into newborn photography! We did some adorable babes & can’t WAIT to get our hands on some more!                        —->

~ Expanded our blog content (only blogged 6 times in 2012, blogged 14 times in 2013… hey, its improvement, right!?  The goal was once per month!), increased our client base (we <3 you all!) and created a FaceBook page (finally!).  Hope to increase blogs to at least once per week in 2014! Tell us what you want to see, hear and view!

~We began covering events (other than our own families!)…

We spent WAY TOO MUCH money at this event!  All the made local stuff is not only A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E, but it supports your local community.  We even bought stuff that inspired JP’s first birthday party theme (Event coverage to follow in late January!)

  • Kid’s Corner on New Year’s Eve.  We got to take pics of families, while hanging with our boys (the husbands brought the little guys!)  —->  JP and Eef New Years -1-2

We will be posting instructions on how to view the NYE photos in the very near future.

A big THANK YOU to all our clients for letting us capture your precious memories in 2013.  We have met some great people and hope to work with you again in the new year!

Countdown to Christmas

Wow, how the year has flown.  Our little guys are 10 months (JP) and almost 3 (Ethan) and Christmas will be a blast this year… family gatherings, lots of food & baking (hello Pinterest!), photos (duh), Santa, that Elf on a shelf thing (Ethan does it, JP doesn’t really know what’s going on yet), church, stories about Baby Jesus… all the Christmas magic!

JP & Ethan-1

Here are some shots from our Holiday Mini.  We had two very cute test subjects 🙂

JP & Ethan-2

Shoot, shoot, shoot. Edit, edit, edit. Repeat!

Gellenbeck -17October has kept us busy and we can’t complain!  We are so thankful for all our clients and the opportunities to capture those special moments.  We’ve had six mini sessions, two senior pictures, several families, a Dublin non-profit event, assisted Grogan Studios on a corporate event, assisted Gable Photo on a wedding and still had time to take some pictures of our own little guys!  We are blessed 🙂

Spring 2013

Spring 2013

Spring is almost over and we’ve barely posted!  We are in the process of editing our most recent wedding while making sure we have time to shoot our own little ones.  This pic was from a few weeks ago in … Continue reading
